And so it begins…

My sweet husband, Jake, has encouraged me for years (yes, literally years) to start a blog. I was always excited yet reserved about the idea. I’m a chatty Cathy, but a distinguished writer, I am not. So I kept talking about blogging, but never took the plunge to start writing. I secretly think that Jake wants me to blog so I will quit talking so much. Hah!

Several of my friends were depressed or sad or felt old when they turned 30. I didn’t really feel any of those. I just felt like my life was flying by in the blink of an eye. I want to use my 30th year to live intentionally, to slow life down a bit, and to remember, savor and enjoy each day! I turned 30 on December 10th, and in the weeks leading up to my birthday I started to craft a list of 30 things I would like to do while I’m 30. I like to call it my 30 in 30 list. This list (gosh, I love lists!) includes physical, mental and faith based challenges. It includes things I’ve wanted to do for years and never accomplished. Nearly all of the 30 items scare me just a little and that’s what excites me the most! One of the first things I wrote on my 30 in 30 list was to start this blog… and here I am!

This blog will be a collection of my journeys in our exciting, crazy life and I hope to inspire you along the way! It will be a little bit about football, travel, being a mama, balancing our schedule, crafting, sewing, cooking, building our future home on the farm, and whatever I’m loving at the moment. Come back and check for updates soon. (Football Friday is tomorrow!)
