Kindergarten Kick-start

Word of warning: I will be over-blogging, over-gramming and over-posting about Luke over the next couple of weeks. He is graduating from preschool next week and my mommy heart can hardly handle it. I’m that crazy mom that cries when she listens to his graduation practice. The practice! I get that from my Mama and I’m just teary thinking about him getting SO big.

Since he will be going to two different schools next year for kindergarten (one in the fall and one in the spring), he had to visit both schools to be screened. The school he will be attending in the fall is a private Christian school and he had to do a 45 minute interview and screening with the Gesell Developmental Observation. Jacob and I also had a question and answer session during his screening. Our pre-interview selfie is below!IMG_6580

We were a little nervous as to what Luke would tell them. I asked him what he told them about Mommy and Daddy and here was his reply: “I told them that you cooked dinner and cleaned the kitchen and Daddy plays football.” Yep, that pretty much sums us up, I guess! Hah!

After two rounds of  screening, I realized that Luke was ready for kindergarten even if I’m not ready for him to go. However, he needs to sharpen a few skills to make sure he will succeed when he enters school in August. In order for him to have fun, learn a few kinder basics and practice his fine motor skills over the summer, I created the Kindergarten Kick-start.

Kindergarten Kickstart Cover PAge

This is a HUGE 167 page set of worksheets, activity pages, coloring sheets, flashcards and posters that will help prepare any child for kindergarten. It covers letters, phonics, numbers, shapes, colors, handwriting and fine motor, scissor skills, reading, personal information memorization, a summer bucket list and much more! It would also be great review for kinders that need extra help before starting 1st grade or for home schoolers over the summer.

You can find out more information about the Kindergarten Kick-start at my Teachers Pay Teacher Store located here.

If you would like to get a FREE sample of the Kindergarten Kick-start you can download the printable emergent reader I created called, At the Beach.

  1. Allison! I was just looking for something like this to put together for Ellie for summer. Perfect timing! Is this a no prep packet?

Hi Sally! Yes, it is a no prep pack! Luke absolutely loves it! I’ve been making him try them out as I made them! Hah! He’s a great product tester! The flashcards are in full color, but the rest are black and white to save on ink.
